Finding TTEs on Trains Made Easy with Indian Railways Assigning Fixed Seats

Passengers often need to find the TTE urgently but can’t. They panic and search for the TTE hoping for solutions to their problems.

Indian Railways has made new arrangements to make finding the TTE on the train easier. A notification by Indian Railways states that the berth and seat number of TTE and security guards in all train categories will be fixed permanently. Now passengers can find them easily instead of searching in every coach.

This news is helpful for frequent travelers in Indian Railways. Passengers with RAC categories and waiting tickets can now find the TTE to check seat availability. In the past, waiting list passengers often had to complete their journey without a seat. This was difficult for both the aggrieved passengers and the co-passengers. This new initiative by Indian Railways is a great step forward.

Here’s how to find a TTE on the train:

If you’re traveling in Rajdhani and Intercity trains

The TTE of Rajdhani, Shatabdi Express, and other Express and Mail trains have a fixed berth. In every sleeper coach, the TTE is at seat number 7. If you’re on an Intercity train, you can find the official at seat number 1 of every alternate coach. That means they’re at D1, D3, and D5.
